For years, sugar beet production has been associated solely with countries that enjoy a temperate climate. “The Tropical Beet changes that,” says Jean-Noël Evrard, International Marketing Manager at SESVanderHave.
“Tropical beets are extra resistant to extreme conditions such as drought, temperature, heavy rainfall and exotic diseases. In order to develop a better response to such extreme conditions, SESVanderHave has invested research for many years in various test fields in India. There, the sugar beets are extensively tested by official bodies as well as through our own test programs.
The results are promising: yields even match those of the top harvests in Europe,” adds Jean-Noël Evrard.
