ALS tolerance in sugar beet

In 2014, SESVanderHave announced the discovery of a sugar beet plant that is tolerant to ALS-inhibiting herbicides. The ALS technology is an effective alternative to weed control in sugar beet, and an important development in sugar beet production. In the spring of 2017, SESVanderHave began the official registration process for ALS-tolerant varieties in Europe. The ALS varieties will be sold under the brand name CONVISO® SMART.
