For years, sugar beet production has been associated solely with countries that enjoy a temperate climate. “The Tropical Beet changes that,” says Jean-Noël Evrard, International Marketing Manager at SESVanderHave.
“Tropical beets are extra resistant to extreme conditions such as drought, temperature, heavy rainfall and exotic diseases. In order to develop a better response to such extreme conditions, SESVanderHave has invested for many years in various fields in India. There, the sugar beets have been extensively tested by official bodies in parallel with our rigorous trails programme.
The results are promising: yields even match those of the top harvests in Europe,” adds Jean-Noël Evrard.
